Cultist kill husband-to-be, one other in Delta
Due to cult-related disagreements, two men were killed and multiple others were injured in Kwale, Delta State's Ndokwa West local government area.
According to witnesses, one victim was shot and was getting married the day before his tragic death, while the other victim's lifeless body was found at Utagba-Uno Junction. Other wounded victims were taken to the hospital immediately for critical care.
The people of Umusam, Utagba-Uno, and Isumpe towns remain shocked and in disarray despite the fact that security forces have set up checkpoints throughout the region to stop additional bloodshed and control the situation.
As the happy event devolved into a devastating tragedy, the deceased's fiancée, family members, and well-wishers were left in great sadness.
According to an eyewitness named Boy, the prospective groom was killed by suspected members of a rival cult group while he was out shopping with pals for wedding-related materials.
“The atmosphere in Kwale remains tense, with parents and community members urging heightened caution as the festive season approaches.
“We all need to be vigilant about our movements and interactions to avoid falling victim to such incidents” he stated.
