Datti Baba-Ahmed declares that he and Peter Obi can end Insecurity in Nigeria

Peter Obi's vice presidential running mate, Yusuf Ahmed-Baba, has stated that both he and Obi have answers to put a stop to insecurity in Nigeria.

Despite stating that there was no use in discussing the plans because so many politicians had previously spoken about them and failed, Yusuf omitted to specify what his intentions were to stop the insecurity.

On Monday, Yusuf talked on Channels Television and criticized the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), for failing to address the nation's security issues.

Yusuf expressed his shame at Buhari's inability to protect Nigeria despite all of his campaign pledges to do so.

Yusuf was responding on how Obi's administration, should he win the election, would address insecurity while speaking on the "Politics Today" program.

Baba-Ahmed explains his decision to drop out of the PDP race for governor of Kaduna Yusuf responded, "We do, what have Nigerians not heard in the past? What information has the APC withheld from Nigerians? What remained unsaid about reestablishing security by Buhari? Are Nigerians not sick of hearing others speak while acting in the other way? We are looking for this opportunity because Peter Obi and I are a totally different combination, and when we do, we will do well.

“Peter Obi and I are a completely different mix, that is why we are seeking this opportunity and when we get it, we will deliver.

“The importance of talking has been destroyed by this administration, I feel ashamed to talk because someone like Buhari has talked and he failed.

“I don’t want to talk but act, we have the solution and by the grace of God, Nigerians will be safe and secured.”

Consistent negotiations, according to Yusuf, are the only way to put an end to the Academic Staff Unions of Universities in Nigeria's ongoing strikes. He also stated that the Obi administration would be dedicated to the welfare of lecturers.
