Death toll rises to 12 in Kano mosque attack
Twelve people have already perished as a result of the Gezawa mosque bombing; eleven more patients passed away while undergoing care at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
They passed away as a result of the injuries they received in the event, according to SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kano Command, who verified the news to Channels Television.
Thirteen patients, he claims, are currently being treated at the hospital.
According to earlier reports from Channels Television, a mosque in Gadan Village, in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, was rocked by an explosion on Wednesday, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries to other people.
Around 5:20 a.m., during the Subhi (early morning) prayer, the incident took place.
Shafi'u Abubakar, 38, has been recognised as the main suspect and taken into custody.
