Denrele Edun maintains that he is not a crossdresser
Denrele Edun, a well-known media figure and entertainment in Nigeria, has denied accusations that he is a cross-dresser.
The incredibly chic television personality made the admission to dispel the myth that he served as an inspiration to well-known crossdressers like Denrele, James Brown and a slew of others.
He revealed it when asked about the comparison to cross-dressers on Vanguard's internet TV program, "Lunch Date with Vanguard."
The fashion legend asserted that he is not a social media sensation and that his success is the result of hard work and dedication rather than social media influence.
Denrele claimed to have been in the business since 1994, long before social media.
Although he acknowledges the flood of creatives in this generation who have established themselves through brand presentation, social media impact, and internet leveraging, he asserts that he is well ahead of them in terms of skill set.
Denrele continued by stating that he has had a significant impact on fashion since 2005, is an iconic character, and has contributed to the success of other Nigerian artists from that generation up to the present.
He claimed that his sense of style was not transgender and was instead influenced by well-known pop artists like Jim Reeves, the Gibson Brothers, and especially Bonny M.
The well-known performer continued by saying that the reason for the misunderstanding is that people do not comprehend his brand.
