Edo Govt: Two more abducted train passengers rescued
A joint squad of military, police, local vigilantes, and hunters reportedly saved two additional victims of the Edo train kidnapping story, according to the Edo state government.
Additionally, it stated that the police officer who passed away while rescuing a kidnapped magistrate, DSP Michael Adams, did not pass away from gunshot wounds but rather from unspecified natural causes later on.
Chris Nehikhare, the state's commissioner for communication and orientation, told reporters in Benin City that the two were freed early on Thursday and that the state's government and security personnel are working together to achieve the release of the other nine hostages.
Nekhihare provided information about the rescued magistrate, Mrs. Precious Aigbonoga, stating that she was saved by a team of security officers working with hunters and vigilantes in the state.
According to him, “Mrs. Aigbonoga was rescued unhurt but unfortunately, one of the policemen, DSP Michael Adams, involved in the rescued operation died of natural causes after the operation. He wasn’t fell by bullet.
“Also the state deputy governor, and Directors of all the security agents have paid a condolence visit to the widow and children of the deceased.â€
