Edo State governor Okpebholo suspends traditional ruler over kidnapping
Due to recent incidents of ongoing kidnappings and murders in his territory, Sen Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has ordered Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State, to be suspended immediately.
Following a recent event that resulted in the murder of a Palace Chief, Late John Ikhamate, the appropriate authorities have already detained his secretary, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi.
Fred Itua, Okpebholo's chief press secretary, stated in a statement that the traditional ruler's suspension was indefinite.
