EFCC advise Nigerian youths against planned protest
Nigerians were advised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, on Wednesday not to assist a "shadowy group" that was attempting to organise a protest against the Commission.
Dele Oyewale, the commission's head of media and publicity, signed a statement that said as much.
A gang, according to Oyewale, has been aggressively using social media to spread its message and enlist naïve young Nigerians in the fight against the EFCC.
The EFCC will not accept any breakdown of law and order in the nation, he said, adding that the movement is being supported by the people against the Commission's efforts to combat cybercrime. He advised youngsters to distance themselves from the protest.
