EFCC arrests 14 suspected internet fraudsters in Makurdi
At a Makurdi "Yahoo Academy," agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission detained 14 people on suspicion of online fraud on Wednesday.
A statement on the agency's X account claims that Makurdi Zonal Command agents raided a three-bedroom flat on Achusa Road in Benue State, which was thought to be a training facility for those learning cyber fraud, based on intelligence.
The individuals under suspicion are: John Kator, Udi Aodona, Terungu Mnyam, Iorwuese Terhide, Ule Francis, Imoter Gloor Emmanuel, and Samuel Lubem. Asongu Terungwa, Aese Sonter, and Nyoosu Terungwa are also suspected.
Wergba Tertamge, Erukaa Ephraim, Agenale Franklin, and Abechi Toryila are among the others.
Laptops, ATM cards, phones, a Toyota Corolla, and a Firman generator are among the items found.
