EFCC arrests 26 suspected cyber fraudsters in Abuja

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, agents of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained 26 alleged online scammers.

They were taken into custody in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, at Kurudu, Jahi, Kubwa, and Gwarimpa locations after receiving reliable information about their possible involvement in crimes related to the internet.

Dele Oyewale, an EFCC spokesman who verified the arrests, stated that among the items taken from the accused were three Lexus vehicles, a Toyota Tacoma, and a CLS Mercedes 450, in addition to forty phones and seven laptops.

The statement claimed that as soon as the investigations are over, the suspects would face charges in court.
