EFCC detains 44 suspected online fraudsters in Calabar

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Uyo Zonal Command investigators have taken forty-four (44) suspected online scammers into custody. 

The accused fraudsters were apprehended on Thursday morning during an early-morning sting operation in the Cross River State communities of Satellite town, Tinapa junction, and the parliamentary extension regions of Calabar, according to EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale. 

Oyewqle stated that among the items taken from them were 38 cell phones, 16 laptops, and six exotic automobiles. 

The statement stated that as soon as the investigations are over, the suspects would face charges in court.
