EFCC detains nurse, PoS operators selling new naira notes

Two point of sale (PoS) operators and a nurse in Kwara have been detained, according to the EFCC, for vending fresh naira notes.

The PoS operators are Sallah Asmau Wuraola, Owoduni Abdullahi Isa (also known as Bolaji), and the nurse, Shuaibu Rukayat, according to an EFCC statement from Sunday.

“The arrest of the suspects followed credible intelligence on elements selling new naira notes to people at event centres, night clubs, hotels and parties without due authorisation. Wuraola and Rukayat were caught with the sum of N1,220,000.00 while Isa was arrested with the sum of N150,000.00,” the EFCC said.

The anti-graft agency promises to bring charges against the suspects.
