In the Mararaba region of Nasarawa State, 17 alleged online scammers have been taken into custody by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) Abuja Zonal Directorate.  

On Tuesday, July 17, 2025, the suspects were taken into custody after reliable information connected them to a number of cybercrimes.  

Five automobiles, twenty cell phones, and four laptops were among the items found during the investigation; they are all thought to have been used as instruments for committing crimes involving the internet.  

The EFCC claims that after the investigations are over, the accused would face charges in court.
