Ekiti governorship aspirant, Peter Obafemi hails armed forces' patriotism
Otunba Peter Obafemi, often known as OPO, is a prominent candidate for governor of Ekiti State in the 2026 election and a philanthropist. He has recognised the contributions made by the Nigerian Armed Forces in preserving peace and security and stabilising the nation.
Every year on January 15, the Nigerian Armed Forces commemorate Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD), which honours the dead heroes of the country's conflicts and national missions.
To commemorate Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Week, Obafemi personally signed a statement.
The PDP chieftain said that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day highlights the sacrifices and efforts of officers, some of whom lost their lives while serving the country.
Obafemi went on to say that despite the difficulties in protecting Nigeria's territorial integrity, security services have shown unmatched bravery, devotion, patriotism, and dedication.
