Elon Mush reclaims title of world's richest person
The title of the wealthiest person in the world has been recovered by Elon Musk.
This is in accordance with the most recent data from the Thursday-released Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Following a roughly 24% increase in Tesla's stock price in May, according to Eikon statistics, the CEO of the electric car manufacturer saw his wealth increase by 40.3% this year to $192 billion.
Bernard Arnault overtook Musk as the leader in December after Tesla's stock dropped as a result of his $44 billion purchase of Twitter.
It is known that Musk, the owner of Twitter and CEO of the rocket business SpaceX, derives the majority of his money from Tesla's stock.
Musk's high-profile two-day tour to Shanghai came to an end on Thursday.
He met with the foreign minister Qin Gang and other Chinese officials while in China.
Analysts said the visit, which took place amid simmering tensions between the United States and China, was evidence that Tesla views China as a key market.
