Farmers allegedly attacked by herdsmen in Ondo
Two farmers are said to have been attacked by suspected herdsmen in Ifira-Akoko in Ondo State's Akoko South East Local Government Area.
Gbenga Omotoriogun and Duro Akadiri were the victims, who were hospitalized and in serious condition after the incident.
Gbenga Akande, a young person from the town, claims that the farmers were attacked after telling the herders to stop destroying their farmland.
He claimed that the herders in the Ose Local government neighbourhood of Ifira, close to Idogun, were notorious for destroying farmland.
The incident has been reported to the Isua police division, according to Akande.
Residents of the area appealed to the state government for assistance after the occurrence.
