FCT Police arrest kidnappers in possession of N12m ransom

According to the Federal Capital Territory police command, three suspected kidnappers have been apprehended by agents from the Utako division in the Gwagwa and Dei-Dei regions of the territory.

According to a statement made public on Thursday by the command's Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation was conducted between June 30 and July 3, 2024, acting upon reliable intelligence.

Umar Abdullahi, also known as Auta, Likita Abubakar, Salisu Sani, Sabiu Mohammed, and Aliyu Suleiman, was named as one of the suspects by the PPRO.

She claims that the suspects were detained in relation to an abduction that took place on June 12, 2024, in Gwagwa.

At least two residents were slain by the attackers during the incident, and they then demanded 12 million naira in ransom from the victim's family.

She disclosed that numerous kidnappings and other egregious criminal acts in the Capital Territory were also carried out by the accused.
