Female officer arrested after she was caught on footage having sex with inmate
After video of a female prison guard having sex with an inmate in an HMP Wandsworth jail cell surfaced, police detained the lady. Yesterday, the suspect was placed under arrest on charges of misbehaviour while holding public office.
In the footage, a prison guard at the Category A facility in southwest London is shown having sex with an unidentified prisoner. The explicit encounter features the woman in her uniform.
The video, which appears to be recent, shows the cop giving the prisoner a sex act before engaging in sexual activity with him.
The inmate's cellmate allegedly used a mobile phone to record the incident on camera. The video shows the inside of the cell, complete with a TV and heaps of clothes on a bunk bed.
Ian Acheson, a former prison governor, commented on the security implications of the incident: “If this footage is authentic, and I’ve been assured it is, the problems confronting a likely new Labour administration go far beyond overcrowding.”
Serious questions concerning staff behaviour and security procedures inside the jail system have been brought up by this instance.
