FG planning To Transports Nigerians Out Of Ukraine - Geoffrey Onyeama
Geoffrey Onyeama, Ex-deputy director General WIPO and Nigeria's minister for foreign affairs, has revealed the federal government plans to transport Nigerian students out of Ukraine to safety because of the ongoing wars.
He posted on his Twitter page on Sunday about his phone conversation with Ukraine Minister of foreign affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, where he expressed his sympathy for the unnecessary loss of lives and properties in the country.
He reiterated that the entirety of Nigeria is with them and understand Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In the phone conversation, The minister also stated his concerns about the Ukrainian border patrol hindering Nigerians from exciting the country and was assured by the Ukrainian minister that instructions had been passed to allow all foreigners to leave.
Minister Geoffrey then explains his ongoing efforts to coordinate with missions in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Hungary to ensure Nigerian students are transported back to safety while supporting those who choose to remain.
"Our Missions have been directed to send staff and buses to the border points in their respective countries to transport our citizens."
He assured fellow Nigerians that high authorities in those countries had been consulted to assist in transporting Nigerians suffering at the border.
