FG raises civil servants' salaries by 25% to 30% range
The federal government has authorised a salary raise for civil personnel on the six consolidated salary structures ranging from 25 to 35 percent.
According to NAN, the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission's (NSIWC) head of press, Emmanuel Njoku, made the announcement about the pay hike in a statement on the eve of Workers' Day.
According to the announcement, the rise will be implemented on January 1, 2024.
Consolidated police salary structure (CONPOSS), consolidated para-military salary structure (CONPASS), consolidated intelligence community salary structure (CONICCS), consolidated public service salary structure (CONPSS), consolidated research and allied institutions salary structure (CONRAISS), consolidated police salary structure (CONPOSS), and consolidated armed forces salary structure (CONAFSS) are the six consolidated salary structures.
Additionally, an increase in pension of 20–28% was approved by the federal government for defined benefits programme retirees with regard to the six consolidated wage structures.
This most recent pay rise excludes academic and non-academic staff members as well as health personnel employed by federal tertiary institutions.
