A fire event in a residential building in Oyo town has destroyed valuables valued at millions of naira.

Sources claim that the event happened at Lane 6A, Gbenga Oyekola Scheme, Boroboro neighborhood in Oyo. The event took place on Wednesday.

It was discovered that the building's properties valued at millions of naira were impacted by the fire.

When called, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, confirmed the event.

According to him, the agency mobilized its men to the scene as soon as it received the report.

Speaking further, Akinwande mentioned that there were also men from the Federal Fire Service present.

Additionally, he revealed that there were no casualties reported at the scene.

He said: “Upon arrival, we met the last room on the left of a private residential building of a four-bedroom flat on fire. The fire crew quickly swung into action, and the fire was restricted from spreading to the whole building and other properties.”
