First Lady Oluremi Tinubu donates N500m to Borno flood victims
Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady, has given N500 million to those impacted by the flood tragedy in Maiduguri, Borno. During a Wednesday visit of sympathy to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri, Tinubu announced the donation.
Presenting N500 million to the governor and offering prayers for the affected individuals, Tinubu was accompanied by his wife, Vice President Nana Kashim Shettima.
She praised the state administration for its dedication at all levels and promised to keep helping the state's youth and women through the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Along for the visit were the wives of a few state governors, ministers, and female members of the National Assembly, in addition to Tinubu, who is also the Chairman of the RHI.
In response, Zulum praised the action and said that the RHI program had given many women and the state's most vulnerable citizens more authority.
He stated that in order to express support for the state's citizens in the wake of the tragedy, President Tinubu also travelled to Maiduguri on Monday.
