Former first lady Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu marks 27 years of surviving breast cancer

Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, a former First Lady of Ondo State, recently marked 27 years since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. 

On Sunday, July 21, Mrs. Akeredolu, who turned 71, also commemorated her late husband, former Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on his 68th posthumous birthday.

In a post on her official X handle, the former Ondo First Lady wrote, “Posthumous Celebration of Aketi, the LOVE of my LIFE @ 68.

Aketi is no longer here with me physically but he lives in my heart eternally.”

In addition, she posted on turning 71 years old and marking 27 years since beating breast cancer. 

She established the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) in an effort to increase public awareness of breast cancer.
