Four suspects imprisoned for allegedly demolishing N250m building

Four alleged property speculators from Lagos Island have been detained by Zone 2 Command operations and charged before the Igbosere Magistrate's Court at the Tinubu Magistrate's Court, Lagos Island.

The charges stem from the alleged illegal demolition of a three-story building worth N250 million that is owned by Mrs. Air at Laguda and is located at 10, Idita Street, Lagos Island.

According to the police, the offenders also made off with the complainant's furniture, jewellery, and other items worth N100 million in addition to electrical equipment.

The defendants were identified by the police as Michael Aiyedegba, 24, Okunola Adisa Ismail, 42, Tunde Titilope, 40, Abass Lamidi, 38, Afeez Rokeeb, 31.

Police also claimed that the defendants had broken into the complainant's property without permission in order to demolish the building and took items without a valid reason.

According to police, after the ugly incident, Mrs. Laguda petitioned AIG Durosimi Olatoye, the assistant inspector general of police in charge of Zone 2 Command in Lagos, who promptly gave his crack team the order to find the act's perpetrators wherever they might be hiding.

By using intelligence gathering, the police team located the defendants and apprehended them at multiple hideouts throughout Lagos.
