French man set himself on fire, runs 893 feet, breaks two records
Jonathan Vero, a French firefighter and stuntman who is 39 years old, accomplished not one, but two Guinness World Records.
He bravely set himself on fire while wearing a protective suit and ran an incredible 893 feet on a track in Haubourdin without using oxygen, according to the UPI.
His initial sprint of 328 feet took just 17 seconds, shattering the previous record for the fastest 100-meter sprint without oxygen that required a full body burn.
Both records were previously held by a British runner named Antony Britton, who ran the first 100 meters in 24.58 seconds and covered a distance of 670 feet.
Vero's love of fire has always been apparent, as he proudly noted to GWR, confessing that he has been fascinated by it since his early years. This daring accomplishment is a monument to his enthusiasm and skill with it.
