Fubara presents 2024 budget to River's five lawmakers
Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, gave the 2024 Appropriations Bill to five of his allies in the state House of Assembly on Wednesday.
A short while after the state government demolished the House of Assembly Complex, the presentation was held at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The meeting was not attended by the 27 House members who support Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The 27 lawmakers recently switched to the All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to Fubara, the N800 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year is intended to address socioeconomic inequality in the state and foster inclusive growth for the purpose of economic development.
According to the governor, the N800, 392,485,433.01 billion is divided between 410,266,485,090.64 in capital expenditures and 361,598,242,570.85 in recurring expenses.
