FUNAAB ranks second-best university in Nigeria
In the 2023 inaugural edition of Times Higher Education's (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), a second-generation university and a well-known centre for agricultural studies in Africa, was ranked as the second-best university in Nigeria.
The university received the 26th-best rating in Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to a number of performance metrics, including "access and fairness," "Africa impact," "teaching skills," "student engagement," and "resources and finance," the rankings evaluate the best colleges in Sub-Saharan Africa.
THE's Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings were revealed at the organization's inaugural forum, which was organized in cooperation with Ghana's Ashesi University. The rankings, which were created in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, assess 88 universities from 17 different nations in the area.
The Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, meantime, commended the entire university community in a statement and said that this distinction should act as a motivator for even greater devotion and dedication to duty.
