Gov Abiodun gives federal government two weeks to reconstruct Sango-Ota road
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has given the Federal Government, which is led by President Muhammadu Buhari, a two-week deadline to fix up the crumbling Sango Ota road.
According to DAILY POST, the residents of Sango-Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government have been pleading with the government to fix the road's deplorable condition.
President Buhari vowed to restore the dilapidated road when visiting Ogun State in January.
However, locals and users of the road said that little had been done to repair the road.
Many have urged Governor Abiodun to assume over if the Federal Government is unable to fulfil its obligations.
Abiodun charged the Federal Government to expedite the road repair within the following two weeks after inspecting the route on Saturday.
Emmanuel Ojo, his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, said that the governor threatened to take control of the highway if the federal government did not act.
The Lagos-Sango Ota-Abeokuta Road is inspected by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
“(He) declares state of emergency on road, gives FG 2-week ultimatum to fix the road else State Government will take over and reconstruct the deplorable road,†Ojo said.
