Gov Aiyedatiwa nominates Owolabi Adelami as deputy
Olayide Owolabi Adelami has been named as the deputy governor of Ondo State by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Adelami is a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly and is from Owo, the hometown of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The Ondo State House of Assembly has been notified of the deputy governor nominee and asked to approve him.
The governor dismissed all commissioners, special assistants (SAs), and senior special assistants (SSAs) that Akeredolu had appointed earlier on Wednesday. They were also instructed to turn over their positions right away to the Permanent Secretaries or the highest ranking administrative officers in their respective offices.
On December 27, 2023, Aiyedatiwa, 59, who had previously served as the deputy governor of Ondo, was sworn in as the South-West state's substantive governor when Akeredolu passed away.
