Following a fire that destroyed the Music House in Ibadan last Friday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday gave a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle to Yinka Ayefele, a well-known gospel musician, broadcaster, and chairman of Fresh FM Radio 105.9 in Ibadan.  

According to the PUNCH, a fire destroyed the Music House on Friday, consuming goods valued at millions of naira.  

The governor thanked the broadcaster for his perseverance and efforts to the entertainment sector and media expansion in the state, and Nigeria in general, as he showed the SUV to Ayefele in Ibadan, the state capital.

Ayefele was clearly affected when the governor, acting through Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Otunba Ademola Ojo, gave him the keys to the SUV. Ayefele had been counting his losses since the fire destroyed parts of the Fresh FM compound.  

During his presentation at the Ayefele Music House in Challenge, Ibadan, Governor Makinde commended the broadcaster for his tenacity and services to Oyo State's media development and entertainment sector.

He said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.

“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”
