Gov Wike hosts Tinubu, others for project inauguration
Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has arrived in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to inaugurate several projects.
The governor and his entourage met Tinubu on Wednesday morning at the Port Harcourt International Airport. Tinubu is in the state at the governor's request.
Along with the governors of Jigawa, Oyo, Ebonyi, Kwara, and Imo, among others, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, accompanied Tinubu to the event.
Later in the evening, the President-elect will also be welcomed at a state banquet.
In a state broadcast on Tuesday, the governor declared Wednesday a holiday and urged Rivers residents to turn out in large numbers to welcome the incoming president.
