Gunmen abduct traditional head, three others in Ondo
High Chief Mukaila Bello, a traditional head of Iku quarter, the Oniku of Iku quarters in Ikare Akoko, the administrative center of Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, and three other natives of the town have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen who are thought to be kidnappers.
According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the victims were taken on Thursday night along the Ago Panu axis of the Owo-Ikare expressway.
Adeniran Adeyemo, a former House of Assembly candidate for the Akoko North-East district, another chief in the community named Yeye Gbafinro, and Bashiru Adekile, a community leader, were also abducted together with the traditional chief.
Tension is currently being caused by the incident in the neighborhood.
The fatalities were reportedly their route from Akure, the state capital, to Ikare-Akoko when they got lost on the highway.
The shooters machetted the driver of the vehicle carrying the victims, who is now being treated at an undisclosed facility in Owo.
The families of the victims have not heard from the kidnappers as of the time of publication.
The State's police command has not yet responded to the occurrence in the meantime.
