Gunmen attack Anambra police station, kill one
Anambra State police shot and killed an arsonist on Monday in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
The deceased attempted to enter the station when he was fatally shot after storming the local police station with his gang in an unmarked Toyota Hiace bus, a Toyota Hilux, and three motorcycles.
The hoodlums fled as soon as the cops overwhelmed them, drawing the attention of the nation.
Tochukwu Ikenga, a police spokesperson, confirmed the event but added that no police fatalities had been reported and that the area had been reinforced by the Command's tactical squads.
He said: “Today 13/2/2023 by 2:15 am, Police Operatives foiled an attack by armed men on the Ogidi Police station, demobilize one of the armed men, and recovered many expanded cartridges and 25 litres of PMS.Â
