Gunmen attack Bauchi community, kills four
Four individuals were killed in a gunman attack in the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The incident allegedly occurred in Gambar Sabon Layi Village on Sunday about two in the morning.
The attack was verified in a statement by Ahmed Wakili, the public relations officer for the Bauchi State Police.
He stated, “On receiving the report, detectives of the command were drafted to the scene led by the DPO Tafawa Balewa Divisional Police Headquarters evacuated the victims to the Tafawa Balewa General Hospital for medical treatment.
“Unfortunately, four victims were certified dead by the medical doctor, while one person sustained various degrees of injury during the attack.â€
One person was also kidnapped by the attackers.
According to the police spokesman, Aminu Alhassan, the commissioner of police, has ordered a covert investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the act.
Meanwhile, near Liman Katagum, the Bauchi Police discovered an underground hideout for alleged kidnappers.
Three AK-47 rifles, one Lar rifle, 49 rounds of 7.62mm ammo, nine AK-47 magazines, and a pair of police camouflage pants are among the items found.
