Gunmen attack Zamfara community, kill two, abduct many others
On Friday, robbers stormed Maradun town, the administrative centre of Zamfara State's Maradun Local Government Area, murdering two and kidnapping many others.
According to Faruku Shehu, an indigenous of the region, the bandits that broke into the town early on Friday were shooting randomly and looting homes.
Shehu stated that the bandits may have taken up to thirty people, even though the exact number of victims has not yet been determined.
Sani, whose home was one of the homes the bandits plundered, expressed shock at the town's extreme levels of insecurity.
He said, “It was to my hearing the bandits boggled my parlor’s door and were coming towards my inner room when I managed to hide”.
“My wives and children followed another passage and ran away to hide somewhere”, he added.
He expressed concern over the rampant attacks of the town lamenting that, “Even last week Friday similar attack was done in the town”.
