Get ready for the upcoming release of the first vampire series to examine Nigerian cultural history.
The bright imagination of Nigerian-American actress Yetide Badaki created the Naija Vamp television series in collaboration with award-winning Hollywood director Prentice Penny's Payback Entertainment.
The story of Naija Vamp, according to Deadline, centers on a Nigerian vampire's need for unending love that goes beyond the body.
Deadline described the series as “an irreverent love letter to all who have ever felt othered, wrapped in a blood-sucking coming-of-age self-discovery romp.â€
A 41-year-old Hollywood actress, author, and producer by the name of Yetide Badaki is the driving force behind Naija Vamp.
Yetide, who was raised in Ibadan, has established herself in Hollywood throughout the years and is leading the charge to promote Nigerian content on a global scale.
Beyond being depicted in cinema, the idea behind Naija Vamp also appears in comic book panels.
The comic book is reportedly syndicated by Stranger Comics, co-written by Sebastian Jones and Badaki, and published by Payback Entertainment.
