I don't read social media anymore, they abuse the hell out of me– Tinubu
All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu claims to have given up on social media.
This was stated by Tinubu, who routinely updates his verified social media accounts using his name.
“I don’t read social media anymore; they abuse the hell out of me. If I read it, I get high blood pressure and angry. I don’t read it, so if I want to hear anything; my children or my workers will say this one said this, and when I’m tired, I say please forget it!â€
In the ongoing election campaign for 2023, Tinubu, who has drawn attention, claimed that social media raises his blood pressure.
He made a slip of the tongue when concluding his address during his campaign flag-off in Jos on Tuesday, referring to his party instead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“…I hand over back to the chairman of the party before he disciplines me for leaving the President waiting and keeping him standing. We are calling, inviting the national chairman to invite the President. At least to close this part of the ceremony. Thank you, God bless you, God bless Nigeria. God bless PD…APC,†he had said.
This sparked fury on social media, where detractors attacked the candidate of the ruling party and claimed he was unsuitable to serve as president.
He made waves online in October when he asserted that Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, has a vision of converting a “rotten situation to a bad one.â€
The episode also gave rise to speculation that Tinubu, who had just returned from London, might have dementia.
Online detractors of the APC presidential candidate claim that Tinubu stays away from debates to avoid making a mistake.
