"I feel blessed and honoured, it exceeds my expectations," Lade talks about her song, "Adulthood Anthem"

Emerging singer Lade said the success of her trending song "Adulthood Anthem" exceeded her expectations.

The song is currently one of the most popular songs that is being used for videos on social media.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Lade said she was blown away by the attention the song drew. She said: "I feel blessed and honoured. It exceeds my expectations if I have to be honest. I'm thankful."

Explaining what inspired the song, she said: "The song basically encourages people to work hard. They should know that they cannot always rely on help. There is no guide to living as an adult. Childhood made us feel that there is something sweet and special that comes with growing up. But the only thing that comes with that is responsibility.”

Lade added that she's open to collaborating with any artist. She said: "I'm open to working with anyone as long as their sound inspires me. I have a long list and we are just getting started.”

When asked if she agrees that female artists see themselves as competitors rather than contemporaries, she said, "I didn't see any competition. Everyone is unique in their way the sky is big enough for everyone to fly. I wish everyone love and light.”
