IBEDC restores power at UCH Ibadan after three months of blackout

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company's management brought power back to the teaching hospital yesterday, ending the blackout at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.

Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the hospital's chief medical director, verified to Vanguard that the hospital's power has been restored.

Remember how the hospital was plunged into darkness when the distribution firm turned off the electricity due to a massive debt that totalled millions of Naira?

The tense relationship between the seller and the customer led to Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, visiting the hospital for a working visit and mediating a settlement between the two managements. After that, IBEDC committed to restoring power in a day or two.

The CMD clarified that the management attempted to lessen the impact of the power outage by solarising a few hospital emergency areas prior to the reconnection.
