If I want to go to court, I would have gone within two weeks- Wike refutes claims that he sued Atiku
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has dissociated himself from the reported lawsuit brought against Atiku Abubakar, the PDP's presidential nominee, saying that no one should use his name if the candidate loses the upcoming election.
Remember that Wike and another PDP leader, Newgent Ekamon, reportedly sued the PDP chieftain, Atiku, Aminu Tambuwal, and other party members over the party's presidential primary.
But Wike stated that he was focused on bringing the benefits of democracy to the people of Rivers State while addressing at the opening of the House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt on Friday.
He said: “People have called me that I went to court against Atiku Abubakar.
"I want to state categorically that I didn’t go to court. I just want to say it for Nigerians to know. I have kept quiet. I am busy delivering the dividends of democracy.
“If they lose the election, nobody should call my name. I have told the candidate. “If I wanted to go to court, I would have gone to court within two weeks.
"The group supporting the candidate is responsible for all of these actions. Let everyone know. "We are supposed to be talking about winning the election," they claim while they plot all of these things to damage my reputation.
