Imo lawmaker Arthur Egwim is dead
Following some health concerns, Arthur Egwim, a member of the Imo House of Assembly representing the Ideato North state seat, passed away.
The incidence was confirmed in a statement issued by Emeka Nduka, the house speaker (APC Ehime Mbano).
Mr Nduka described the lawmaker as “a ranking parliamentarian of note and a strong voice at the assembly.â€
The speaker also prayed for the peaceful rest of his soul and said that his passing would leave a void in the home because he was one of its "finest and best brains."
2015 saw Mr. Egwim's initial election to the eighth house. He had experience as the house's chief whip.
Under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket, he ran for the House of Representatives seat in the national assembly elections held on February 25 but lost.
