Imo Police arrest Catholic priest who allegedly shot boy to death
In Imo State, a youngster was allegedly shot dead by a Catholic priest. According to reports, the event took place at the St. Columbus Catholic Church in the state's Amaimo community's Ikeduru local government district.
The youngster was shot when it was alleged that he had thrown knockouts into the church, albeit the victim's name is still unknown.
Sources claim that the incident took place at the New Year Mass in Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State, on January 1, 2025.
Since then, the town has been in shock and turmoil as many people have denounced the Catholic priest's behaviour and demanded that the suspect be properly investigated and arrested.
The young boy allegedly threw a stone into the church grounds, and the Catholic priest reportedly grabbed a gun and shot him.
The incident was reported on Thursday by the Imo State Police Command. Henry Okoye, the Command's Public Relations Officer, stated that a thorough inquiry had been started to determine the incident's remote facts.
He said that more information regarding the case will be shared when it is ready.
