India police arrest seven men who allegedly gang-raped tourist
According to officials, seven men are currently being held in India for the alleged gang rape of a tourist and assault on her spouse. This case has brought attention to the widespread issue of sexual violence against women in the nation.
In relation to the incident, police said on Saturday that they had detained three males and were looking for four others.

Pitambar Singh Kherwar, superintendent of the Dumka district police in the state of Jharkhand, stated that the couple, who had been riding a motorbike from the state of West Bengal to the neighbouring country of Nepal, was discovered late on Friday by police officials on patrol.
After being brought to the hospital, the woman told the doctor that she had been sexually assaulted, he claimed.
According to Kherwar, police have established a special investigating team and are aware of the identity of the wanted suspects. It's unknown if the three suspects who were detained had legal counsel.
