Indian man kills two children in their home
In Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, a man is accused of killing two children after breaking into his neighbor's house and demanding money. Details of the case have surfaced.
According to authorities, Sajid, the alleged killer, knew the victims' father Vinod and owned a barbershop across from their home. Vinod wasn't home when Sajid paid them a visit on Tuesday night, supposedly to borrow Rs 5,000. Sangeeta, Vinod's wife, claims that after giving him the cash, she went to the kitchen to prepare tea. At that point, he is said to have killed two of her three children by attacking them.
Then, leaving his brother Javed waiting outside on a bike, Sajid ran away. Sajid allegedly opened fire on the police after being apprehended, killing one of them in the process. According to the police, an inspector was shot and is now admitted to the hospital. Javed remains absent. A reward of Rs 25,000 has been issued by the police for information regarding him.
The district magistrate has requested the investigation report within 15 days after a magistrate's probe into the incident was mandated.
No disagreement with him, claims the child's father
Residents of the city have been agitated by the double murders, and they have set fire to the barbershop.
Police denied reports that connected the killings to occultism. In order to stop these rumours, social media is being watched, according to senior police officer Alok Priyadarshani.
The police stated that although the reason for the killings has not yet been determined, it seems to be related to a disagreement between Sajid and Vinod.
However, Vinod has denied any dispute. "I had no dispute with him. I was away from home for work when he came to the house. One of my sons was able to escape him and warn his mother," Vinod said.
