Iran executes 3 men for raping women at fake clinic
Iran has killed three men who were found guilty of raping women after tricking them into visiting a fictitious cosmetic surgery clinic and giving them anaesthetic injections.
Seven victims were persuaded to the fictitious clinic by one of the men, a medical assistant, using "false advertisements" for cosmetic operations that were posted online. After giving the victims an anaesthetic medication injection, he then raped them.
On Tuesday, the three men who sexually assaulted numerous women at an unlicensed beauty parlour were executed in Iran's Bandar Abbas jail.
The other two defendants, who were both nurses, were executed in connection with five rape cases and drug theft accusations.
A court in Iran executed five guys for gang-raping a woman about three months ago.
Iran will execute the second-highest number of people in 2022, after China, according to the human rights organisation Amnesty International. In Iran, at least 582 individuals were put to death in 2017.
