Israeli-Hamas Crisis: Death toll hits 7,000

Israel's airstrikes on the beleaguered enclave are said to have killed 5,791 people, including more than 2,000 children and 1,400 women, according to the health ministry run by Hamas in Gaza.

The United Nations also said that more than 1.4 million people had been forced to leave the Gaza Strip since the bombardment started.

After Hamas terrorists invaded Israel on October 7, the battle continued for an additional 18 days in the Gaza Strip, leaving 1,400 people dead and more than 200 captives seized, according to Israeli officials.

According to AFP, international pressure on Israel to reduce civilian losses is increasing, despite the fact that Western nations continue to steadfastly support the nation.

Fuel and water shortages in Gaza have exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe, and the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has issued a warning that it will be forced to halt operating there if fuel deliveries are not made by Wednesday.

“Time is running out. We urgently need fuel,” said UNRWA communications director Juliette Touma, according to AFP.

Due to a fuel shortage, six hospitals in Gaza have already been forced to close, according to the World Health Organisation.

Since the weekend, a few assistance trucks have entered Gaza, but they still represent a very small portion of the normal flow across the border.
