Jigawa govt declares Thursday work-free day to mark Eid-el-Maulud
To commemorate Eid-el-Maulud in 2023, the Jigawa State Government has designated Thursday a public holiday.
In a statement made available to the Newsmen on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer, Office of the Head of Civil Service (HoS), made this announcement.
Alhaji Muhammad Dagaceri, the State's Head of Service, was quoted by Ibrahim as claiming that Governor Umar Namadi of the state gave his assent for the holiday.
“I write to inform you that Government has declared 12th R/Awwal, 1445AH (28th September 2023) as a work-free day to celebrate the Birthday (Maulud Nabiy) of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W),†Ibrahim quoted the HoS.
He claimed that Dagaceri urged the employees and all Muslims in the state to practise tolerance and to pray for peace, tranquilly, and progress.
