Kate Middleton, other members of the royal family shares memories of Queen Elizabeth during Christmas Carol
King Charles attended the service in the abbey where the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral was conducted in September along with Queen Consort Camilla, his son Prince William, Kate, and other family members.
Kate, who is William's wife and succeeded Charles to the throne as Princess of Wales, served as the event's host and honored Queen Elizabeth and "all those who are tragically no longer with us."
"So, whilst Christmas will feel very different this year, we can still remember the memories and traditions we shared," Kate said in an introduction to the service. Queen Elizabeth died on Sept. 8 aged 96, after 70 years on the throne.
"Her Majesty held Christmas close to her heart, as a time that brought people together and reminded us of the importance of faith, friendship and family, and to show empathy and compassion," she said.
On December 15, the day the last episodes of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan's Netflix documentary series were broadcast, the family put on a united front at the service.
In the series, Harry, who resigned from his royal duties in 2020, heaped new criticism on his family, including the claim that his elder brother William yelled at him during a summit to determine his future.
