Katsina petrol stations increases fuel by N60
In and around the metropolitan districts of Katsina, commercial gasoline stations have raised the price of Premium Motor Spirit at the pump by N60. According to information obtained by
The PUNCH, fuel at the NNPC mega stations costs N665, while other fuel stations that had charged N830 now charge N900. As some locals turned to NNPC mega stations designated by the government, it was observed that the majority of the fuel stations in the region were locked.
Speaking with our correspondent, a few drivers, Jamilu Ahmed and Suade Malik, blamed the spike on the difficulties Nigerians are going through.
“If not, I can’t be here though there is no long queue but the pumps are the same as the private stations(sic),” Ahmed stated.
Lamenting, Malik said, “I have things to do but had to queue for fuel. Where I normally get my fuel from, they have increased their price from N830 to N900. In the situation of Nigeria now, one needs to plan.
“Going by NNPC’s N665 naira per litre, I have saved myself N235. Take, for example, my car is taking 60 litres, if you do the mathematics, literally I saved N14, 100.”
