Kevin Spacy, an American actor charged with sexual assault
American actor and producer Kevin Spacey has been charged in the UK with four counts of sexual assault. Prosecutors confirmed Thursday that three men were involved in the crimes. Spacey, 62, was charged after evidence was reviewed following complaints between 2005 and 2013. Rosemary Ainslie, chief of the CPS Special Crimes Unit, said the service had "authorized criminal charges of sexual assault against three men on four counts." In a press release, she announced that Spacey was charged with "causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent." Ainslie announced that the evidence previously collected was being re-examined by the Metropolitan Police. "The prosecution reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings are pending against Mr. Spacey and that he has the right to a fair trial," the statement said. The incidents are said to have happened in London and Gloucestershire. The first charge concerned an alleged sexual assault in London in March 2005. The second alleged victim affirmed he was attacked in London in August 2008. The third complainant relates to a likely attack in Gloucestershire in April 2013.
