Kim Kardashian and Kanye West settle divorce

According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian and Ye (formerly Kanye West) have split, thereby ending a generational tale.

Their relationship started with her believing he was brilliant and him wanting to "dip her ass in gold," and it ended how most modern love stories do: with a judge deciding on custody and child support arrangements.

The couple will share custody of their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, according to documents acquired by TMZ (though TMZ sources note that Kardashian will have the children the "lion's share" of the time). Despite the fact that both Kardashian and West declined to pay spousal support, West must still fork over $200,000 a month to Kardashian in child support. Additionally, he will be responsible for covering half of the children's security, medical, and educational costs.

The two decided that moving forward, any issues involving their children would be resolved through mediation, and that if either of them chose not to participate, the other would be given the right to decide the matter by default. Based on their prenuptial agreement, their assets, including their properties, will be shared.

Having been married for seven years, Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021. Since then, we've had to put up with rumours that the pair would reconcile as well as repeated protestations of Kanye's love and his attempts to win over Kardashian. As the divorce proceedings progressed, tension rose until West turned his attention to Pete Davidson, who was dating Kim Kardashian at the time. Bipolar-diagnosed West has been at the centre of a number of recent incidents, including many antisemitic outbursts that caused his agency to yank him as a client and several corporations to distance themselves from him.

Laura Wasser, sometimes known as the "Disso Queen" due to her prowess in ending marriages, served as Kardashian's divorce attorney. (She represented Angelina Jolie during her breakup with Brad Pitt, Britney Spears through her divorce from Kevin Federline, and Johnny Depp during his split from Amber Heard.) Throughout the divorce, Ye changed lawyers at least five times.
